Hi there,

I'm thinking of buying the toneport ux1 i think it's called. I see that's it's USB interface and not line in etc. Do i need a good motherboard or soundcard for this thing to sound decent? I already have audacity and i've been recording into my line in port in the motherboard which sounds a bit ****e tbh.

HELP. PLz.

No, the TonePort has nothing to do with the soundcard on your computer. As long as your computer can run the software you're fine.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

I have one. The cleans are really nice, but the distortions are muddy and lacking.

True, but I find if you run an EQ or OD pedal over the distortions it really makes it sound A LOT better.
