On one of my older bass amps, the rubber end that goes around the metal part that goes in the outlet got ripped off completely (not sure how :-/). How would I go about getting this fixed?

If the cord itself is in good condition, buy a replacement plug at a hardware of home center. Then snip off the end where the old plug is, strip back the wires, and attach the new plug on the cable.

If the cord itself is rotten replace the whole cable.

+1. If you don't know what you're doing, have an electrician do it though, and if you do do it, check it three times over you've got the wires going where they should.

is it just the rubber o ring that came off? if so take it to a lowes, home depot that kind of store and ask if they can help you find one that fits it.

The rubber part in that picture is the part that got ripped off. And I can't replace the whole cable, at least I don't believe so, because it goes into the amp itself and can't be seperated.

Attach a new end to it. They have little cylindrical modules that screw together as an enclosure. Just go to Home Depot or Lowe's or something. Any hardware store worth it's salt will have a solution.

Two boards and a vintage Ampeg in my house have the same solution (the Ampeg did, at least, until the whole cable crumbled apart and had to be replaced from the inside--wasn't tricky).
Sincerely, Chad.
