the thing about line 6 is they arent really bad per say, but you can find a way better modeling amp or a modeling pedal.

I think Spiders suck, my old band had a Spider II and I used to own a Spider III and both of them were crappy and to be honest over priced as well.

I've heard Line 6 makes some decent products though.

Their big delay pedals are great, and so are some of their other pedals. The amps suck though. But straight tube trumps pretty much everything i guess.

Besides the Spiders, Line 6 makes some quality amps.
I'll play it and tell you what it is later.

I played my friends dads amp for a little bit and I thought it was kick ass. Some 100 watt.

I don't know enough though to make a decision.

I still consider getting one.

They're not really a bad company they make some nice stuff, but the Spiders are just horrible. I mean big companies of course are going to make low cost bad sounding gear, *cough*Marshall MG*cough* doesn't mean that the company itself is bad what so ever.

When you all say it's the Spider series that sucks, I'm assuming you don't mean the Spider Valve too?

I't sounded pretty nice when I played on it at the shop.

Seems like everyone that buys a Spider Valve loves it, I just wish they would make a Flextone Valve.

I own a Spider 3 and it's alright.
It's pros are that it's easy to set up, you get a wide range of tones and you can layer effects and have pretty good control over the effects.

The cons are the sound is extremely processed so different guitars sound the same through them and most of the presents are useless.

When I first got it, it sounded extremely bright but I've noticed as the speakers have broken in I'm starting to get more bottom end, it sounds nicer now then when I first got it.

For the purpose of practice it's fine and I actually like it's tone better than the Vox XL I considered replacing it with. If I had to do it over I probably would have got the Vox non-XL version or spent a little more money and bought the Flextone. Most likely I will upgrade to a Flextone in another year and probably get a nice tube amp a year after that.
#30
Undecided.

I've played every Spider amp, and the Flextone. The Flextone sounds pretty good, the spiders not so much.

I want to try (Extensively) a couple of different PODs, as well as the Vetta.

I hear the dual-amping the X3 POD and Vetta can do is pretty amazing.

Line 6 doesn't sux. Their Spider amps and cheap Variaxs are. The rest are very good. Gotta love the PODs
#32
POd = great...SPider = bull****t

My lead guitarist has a Line6 half-stack and it sounds really good but his practice Spider III. Let's just say a birthing elephant has better fuzz

I hate it when everyone bashes on the spider series. Tell me another amp that you can buy that produces all of those sounds for that price. It is what it is. Some of you try to make it something it's not.
#39
some products are great, like the DL4 delay and the toneports...but i don´t like the amps or the guitars!
