basicly the black ice mod..

how do i wire it up?

any schematic or help?

ive got 1n914 diodes
You don't.

1N914 diodes are conventional silicon small signal diodes.
The threshold is too high.
The signal from you pickups will be too small.
They won't do much of anything.

You need schottky diodes or germanium diodes.
Even then, it's not that great of a mod.

To be a little more technical (give me a break I'm an electrical engineer):
The average guitar puts out about .3 Volts, most diodes have a .7 Volt drop. So you would have to amplify you signal to at least 1 Volt before you could clip it. And if your going to do that you may as well just put a on board distortion or just use a pedal.

If you do decide to amplify the signal then clip it try using LEDs instead of normal diodes. They give a pretty good overdrive like sound.
