When I Come Around by Green Day minus the easy solo. I used to be a big Green Day fan, and I played the crap out of Internat'l Superhits when i got it.
#10
I learned nothing but riffs here and there until one day I forced myself to trudge through Laid to Rest by lamb of god (even though when I started learning it I wasn't good enough to play it) until I could play it, and it brought my playing up to the next level when I could play it clean.
I learned it soo long ago, but I still like to play it today.

Same here, it's nice to see someone who likes Green Day and isn't a total douche.

+1, Maiden ftw!

And, mine was The Drapery Falls by Opeth (minus the solo) and I felt awesome, I played it like 11 times in a row...which killed two hours

A brighter future... underground.

Personally, i'd buy her a can of Coke, then as she's drinking it say to her "Whats better than Coca Cola?" She'll go "What?" and you shout "CREAM SODA!" And ejaculate in her can.

I took on the task of learning under the Bridge- Rhcp

So I would learn how to be able to suspend bar chords and all that fancy stuff.

And then i learned i could have lied, Off of that same album so I could learn how bust our some lead licks. (Those two solos where pretty intense to me at the time so it was a challenge)

I suvived the Bannecide.

First small riff I ever learned was seven nation army by white stripes (lqtm), but first full song (although minus the solos) was enter sandman.
Too many people own guitars. Someone had better go play a... clarinet or something.

:stickpoke

That means you.

I swore off learning a full song until I learned Purple Haze. Just so I can say Purple Haze was the first song I learned.

Probably "You Shook Me All Night Long". Or "Peggy Sue". But Peggy Sue is easy.

Dude I got these strings the other day that couldn't be tuned to higher than 4 octaves below middle C then I realized that they were shoelaces and they weren't making any sound at all.

Well, first song I learnt was Wild Thing, but that was just three chords so I wont count that. First other song I would say is Wish You Were Here, but not the last solo. Never even bothered trying with that part of it.

Being able to play along to the cd and all? That would be in keeping secrets of silent earth by coheed

A friend showed me the chords for Smells like Teen Spirit on the bass.
I don't actually know any full song on guitar, and I've been playing for 2 years. The best ones is Iron man and Day Tripper(by the Beatles).

Guitar was either Tomorrow by Silverchair or Dammit by Blink 182 I think.
Bass was Bombtrack by Rage Against the Machine, followed soon thereafter by The Distance by Cake, and then Nightrain - Gunners
