Alright, I have that DigiTech RP-350. It's alright if you're just playing around with stuff. Otherwise, you need actual gear. I've had it for about a year. I've managed to tweak what one could, its a processor, so by nature, you can't tweak that much, quality not as good, etc.

Anyway, I am going to start a band in a few months. So, I need real pedals. Here's my question....

If it sounds good on my processor, then in person, will it sound:

A.) Just the same
B.) Better quality
C.) Worse quality

Please respond...

Due to the nature of analogue pedals the tone often sounds less modulated and less digital (well better than the rp-350 anyway).

However i've just bought the boss gt-8 and i've been very surprised, after a couple of hours of tweaking i can pull out some wonderfull lively tones + all of the emulated effects are pretty acurate and probably sound as good when run straight through my amp with no speaker/pre-amp emulation.

But generally analogue = better + alot of the pedals have true bypass.

^^ that make sense?

thanks....

but no.

that's not what I mean.

let me re-phrase:

say I like the way the Small Stone phaser is modelled. If I use the same pedal that is being modelled, THEN would it sound:

A.) Better
B.) About the same
C.) Worse

Cool.

So any model, is ALWAYS going to sound better if it's the actual thing, right?

Other way around, the actual original product/pedal will always sound better.
digital modeling isnt good enough to get the exact sound of the original analog pedal...
