Squier Telecaster standards. I have an excellent Affinity Series, but you can never be sure of consistent quality with them.

Ruling out Squier? No. Squier makes decent guitars; what do you have against them? My Affinity Strat was solid, too.

Rondomusic.com and Guitarfetish.com though i cant vouch for the blue semihollow telecasters on guitar fetish but the rest seem sweet and last year i got a stunning es335 copy from them. Its my favorite guitar at the moment.

The answer to your question is there isn't one. Not from a name that sells worldwide anyway. Squire make the best low cost clones and I have never even heard anybody that I respect say otherwise! The next best thing is the real deal or a second hand. I am always open for re-education, so feel free to do so or explain further your logic.
Stop showing off and play the music!

Depends what you mean by "inexpensive."

If you mean say $100 or some ridiculously low amount like that, then no.

If you mean cheaper than Fender, then yes. Even with the cost to import them, you can find some really good copies out of some of the Japanese companies. However, those usually end up being about the same price as a used Fender in a lot of cases (granted it is for a new guitar and some of them are considered to be better than Fender or have features you won't find on Fenders).

I wouldn't rule out Squier though, they do make some decent guitars. Depending on your price range, if you really want a Tele, they are probably the way to go. You may want to look for used Fender as well.
