I'm guessing those are extremely low end pick-ups despite the fact they are Seymour Duncan. Most good sets of Seymour Duncan pick-ups cost nearly as much as that guitar, after all.

Really don't see much point to buying a guitar for a kill switch. If you really need one, it is pretty easy to put in.
