I know you're talking about bands from Japan but you make it sound like it's a genre. If so, what is it simlar to? Melodeath I assume...
If you see me in the pit, know that I'm only there because the metal forum is moving slowly.

This thread needs more Gallhammer, even though I don't like them that much, and find them a bit poserish. Although I guess they are somewhat decent.

Edit: On a second thought, shouldn't this go in the rec thread?

SO if Janne and Alexi did a gay porn, would I be the only one willing to buy it?

That's a dumb question, you know everyone in here would buy it too. I know I would!

How do you find them poserish exactly?

Sabbat, Metalucifer and Gorgon win this, as well as the aforementioned Gallhammer.

I read about them in a magazine a few years ago, and I got the feeling it was something like; "Yeah, lets be like hellhammer and black metal, rawr satan".

Although the article could have been slightly off and sliding a bit from the truth, not to mention it wasn't a credible magazine anyway.
So I don't know... that was my first impression and it has kinda stuck. I guess I need to give this band more time, listen to them more to form a valid oppinion.

The way I see it, they're just three people who love Hellhammer and Amebix, and formed a band in that vein. Whatever, they rule, and are one of the best black metal bands today in an ocean of mediocrity.

My thoughts exactly. I always imagine Japanese metal bands as avant-garde power-prog. What genre do the usually really play?

I find the idea of japanese people trying to look metal hilarious but then again you know what the japs are like when it comes to technical ability. Tetris masters and **** so they must be good with their fingers(no racist)
