i hve been playing for almost 2 years now and i thought that 2 years is a good time to upgrade my guitar but im gonna wait till i have done my GCSEs in the summer. im gonna upgrade my amp and guitar, im gonna sell all my current gear and get a job soon to fund it all.

at the moment i have a fender strat which i hate and a cort g250. both strat shaped guitars, but i would quite like a different style, i play mainly blues and blues influenced rock, so clapton and hendrix to AC/DC and GnR.

i am looking to get either a bc rich mockingbird or a semi hollow body (thisis whre the tread reeli starts) i like the Ibanez art series and guitars like the epiphone dot.

i think im gonna get a Fender Blues Junior amp at the same time as this guitar. so what i want to know is what are good guitars around £300 -£450 ( i hope to save alo of money ) so give me some ideas

Wow, a strat is possibly the most generic (And possibly the best) guitar for the blues. but if you don't like it, well, a semi-hollow would be a great choice. If you have like 900 dollars to spend on a guitar, a high end epiphone would be great. However, you could get a dot and upgrade (new pickups, pots, tuners, nut, etc). that would sound good as well. But the blues junior would be perfect. you might want an od pedal too.

Id say check out Ibanez's Artcore series for a hollowbody. They have some that look like the PGM1, but with an arched flame top and real F-holes (PGM1 F-holes are painted on). Alot of those Artcore's are great deals as well.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say check out the Mockingbird ST. As far as tonal options go, you have coil splitting and a 5-way "Varitone" selector. And an original FR. And a neck -through 24 fret. Go play one and see what you think.
There is no set "have to play" guitar for what you want to do, explore your options.

as far as semi-hollows go, well, yeah. Epis, Ibanezes, and maybe check out the Hagstroms as well.
Do YOU know who Les Paul is?

Guitars:
-Epiphone Dot Studio
Amps:
-Fender Stage 112 SE
Effects:
-BBE Soul Vibe
-Boss OD-1 Overdrive
-Ibanez DE-7 Delay
