I'm gonna hope I'm allowed to do this, because I think we're a nice small forum and we know how to do it sensibly and crap..

POST YOUR BLUES OR JAZZ BANDS WEBSITE/RECORDINGS/VIDEOS HERE!!

I'm trying ever so hard to get my own blues band together and was wondering how many other younger people actually play in their own blues or jazz bands, so I figured why not give ourselves a bit of shameless self-promotion and make a thread about all our own bands.

So yeah post up your websites or myspaces of your blues or jazz bands/projects whatever. (I'm gonna allow funk and reggae and generally roots-type music since I think the sub-forum should just be a roots music forum anyway, not strictly blues and jazz)

I'll try and keep it neat by editing them into the second post with your username and then links to whatever..

Any other suggestions just post them, hopefully this works okay and is allowed by the mods.

Now go forth and bluesify

I'm not in a band and haven't been for a few years, but I jam with friends all the time. I've got several recordings in my profile of stuff I've put together, mostly blues and jazz.
#6
Okay I've edited all them in, does it look neat and organised enough? I've linked usernames to UG profiles and then put the band name and the myspaces/websites underneath.

I'm gonna make myself a new myspace for my solo bluesings now I think!

All my stuff is me solo and is on my profile. The next tune I have planned is the Chicken, but I need to work out the tune first.

http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/sinan90/music/ Might be a better link for me because I have quite a few tunes I can't fit on my normal profile page.

The jazz tunes are:
Blues for Alice
Blackbird
Masquerade
Someday My Prince Will Come
Autumn Leaves
Blue Bossa

www.myspace.com/twelve8band

We're called Twelve Eight, and the recordings we have up now are really really not good.

Also you can put my profile up for some stuff I did on my own if you want.

texas_db - really enjoyed your songs, very garage rock/blues. Reminded me of the black keys, which makes sense since they are listed in your influences. Where are the vocals though!?

meh! - one of the more interesting bands I've heard linked on ultimate-guitar. The songs are good, interesting and fun. The singer is great too (for the funk song, not as much the blues), is that you?

aether - nice slide playing, perfectly in tune. For both songs though I was hoping they would pick up a little more.

sinan - awesome to hear some slick bass... we should collaborate on a version of blue bossa, that's one of my favorite songs to play

the devil - you've got a good voice, sounds like you just need a little more practice hitting pitches, and you keep jumping around octaves trying to find where you want to sing it.

Dimebag - your tone is excellent and the phrasing is great also. I'm impressed, too bad the sound quality is so bad.

GD_GC - your guitar work is excellent, tone is excellent, phrasing very good... too bad the singing isn't as good, but practice makes perfect!

Well, I believe my band has a noticeable blues influence. Swamp Song is probably the bluesiest one of the recordings.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to listening to everyone else when I have more time later. Nice thread.

I just noticed I put up the wrong myspace for my solo stuff so now I just left both, the other one has better singing and more songs I think. I'm still getting used to singing, only been doing it properly for about 6months.

Hey, I don't really have a stable band at the moment, but I do a lot of recording with various people I know. My myspace is www.myspace.com/samgillmusic

It's got a pretty wide variety of stuff I've written on it, so check it out. The song "Bozzetto Corto" seems to be a favourite of a lot of my friends, so that's a good place to start.

I thought I'd ressurect this thread, it's a good one. Maybe we should try and get this stickied?

My band should have some new recordings up soon, of songs we actually like, recorded at our drummers house. We didn't really like those last two songs, but the oppertunity knocked and we didn't have to pay... and the people only wanted to record those songs, meh.

Sweet man, I'm looking forward to it, your other 2 songs are great I think.

Maybe if people post when they update stuff, get new songs etc. I could edit that in aswell under the band names? Like ''Update (Whatever/new songs/new members/new gigs) on Date/H/ere'' Could probably be useful for people who check back to the thread?

I plan on doing a lot of solo recording hopefully in the next week or two and getting some decent stuff up on my myspace so keep an eye out for that too peoples if you're interested.

Your songs are awesome man. I really need to learn slide guitar better. Love that rockin slide stuff you do. The solo on Struttin' Busted is killer! Very Hendrixy.

You do need to find a drummer though and start singing! Do your songs have lyrics?

EDIT: HOw come you don't have a little "add to friends" thing? Add my myspace to your friends? www.myspace.com/thedevoidone

You should start writing some man, all the songs on your myspace are great. Write some lyrics and learn to sing them then all you need is a drummer and you can get out doing some gigs.. Doesn't even have to be a permanent drummer, just use anyone you can find? I would pay to see music like that, I bet you'd get loads of gigs.

there is a add friend thingy, its up at the top in a bar, u have to click on it, then it will give u a list of options. but i will just add u so u dont have to go to all the trouble

well thanks.
i havent really tried to sing yet, so i'll try to experiment with it a lil. and i have a friend who is a drummer, but he is married, has a kid, a job, and another band. so if i can talk him into coming to my band, he could be my drummer.

Two new songs up on our bebo. LObster (Legend of the broken slide) and "Midnight Chill".

We'll have them on myspace soon.

I have a band. We're kinda blues-rock and whatever else we happen to play. Our recordings right now are REALLY sh*tty though we're gonna try to get some stuff of moderate quality soon.

http://artists.ultimate-guitar.com/pyknic/

www.myspace.com/pyknictheband

and then I have some solo stuff on my profile but it is really bad and more an outlet to defeat boredom than an actual band.

EDIT: meh, I am listening to your band now. Brilliant stuff!
