Me and my band are trying to write some metal songs, just to switch it up.

How do i get my solo's to sound more metal like?
all my solo's sound like im playing the blues and just dont fit.
i usually play stevie ray vaughan stuff kind of stuff. the most "metal" i get is like SOAD and RATM.

any tips or help?
