Ok whats your worst guitar related experience?

A couple of weeks ago I went to a Jam session at the pub (no big deal as I go there every week) & I lent my guitar to a guy that only bought his bass ( also not a big deal, as I tend to trust most of the people there not to hert it) Anyways he played for like 2-3 hours (only suppose to play for 15-20min each) so me and a mate got the ****s & told him he should finish up as there where other people that wanted to play & he just went skitz & threw my guitar which was then followed by 10min of verbal abuse before we finally removed the **** from the pub!

EDIT: the guitar thrown was only a cheap strat but I love that guitar ,luckly it wasnt hert!
any simular stories? post!

A kid came in during one of my band periods and played my guitar with his teeth.Unfortunately I promised myself that I wouldn't change any strings on any guitar until I get my Strat. Now I am playing with strings that have been tounged,if that is a word.

Because I want that Strat that bad.The strings on my current guitar were only about 2 weeks old at the moment, now they are 4 weeks old and I want to change them but, because of that promise,I refuse to change them.

No on a standard 6 string squire bullet strat! all 3 broke in the same place (right at the bridge) so i concluded it musta had a bur on the bridge slot so I ran some grafite threw the slot AND.....

Was playing an epic blues solo, and I was walking backwards on stage (yeah, stress and shyness)... I kicked my 4,000$ amp and tripped on it. I was lucky, I didn't actually fall ON the amp, but I was close.

EDIT: Oh, and one of my roommate's friend tried my 4 days old ES-335. I felt like the world was crumbling around me.

Now that I think about it, my Squier is worth one pickup on my Gibby LP, lol

I trusted my cousin with my 1990 Gibson Les Paul while I was in another room...

When I came back, I found the neck cracked behind the nut. According to him it "fell" off the stand. Luckily I got it fixed.

You don't need to call it a bottom A, there's only 1 A string.

A 7-string has a low B.

My own personal experience isn't too bad, I joined my friends band and we spent 2 hours recording ONE song, only to have one of the guys turn the computer off at the power point.
That, or the fact that before I quit their methods of song-writing was sitting around with a riff, then one of them saying "put a riff that sounds like *enter bandname here* in" and see what it sounded like. Extremely annoying.

my friend tried a guitar throw with his guitar(whihc is where you throw it around your shoulder and catch it as it swings round if you didnt know). We thought this would be safe because we'd put duct tape on the strap buttons to keep the strap on. WE WERE WRONG. The strap snapped at the plastic adjustor part and the guitar went flying backwards, missing a car by a couple of inches and slamming into the grass. That was a scary day for us all, but luckily its only wound was grass stains.
Myself, the worst I've had is that I leant my ibanez iceman against the wall then sat down and it started sliding over. Luckily I managed to catch it in the nick of time before it hit the ground.
#28
i was drunk during practice one day and my strap came off the knob and fall on the ground. but had nothing to do with being drunk, just people assumed that's why it was.

and at a show one time i hit my bassist in the head with my BC Rich Flying V which if you know BC Rich's, they have those pointy heads which gave him a concussion. it was funny, we played the song, he went off stage, and then came back for the next song and people cheered.

it wasn't that great of a show though....

I was playing bass during a show cuz I'm a guitarist/bassist fr a band. The bassist switches with me occasionally. anyway, I was playing and the E string on the bass snapped. it was a total mind blowing event. I didn't think it was possible to do that. for the res to the show I just played E at the seventh fret on the A string cuz I didn't have any extra bass strings with me.

Mine is with mah bass i had it learning to much vertically while standing up and the strap came of the top machine head and smacked into my ear, hurt really bad. This was when i was trying to learn how to play standing up aswell.

My worst moment was when I was 14, and I was playing bass in my first band, Ballistic Missile. We were practicing with a prospective drummer when the strap came off my bass, and it slammed against the concrete floor, severely damaging the paint job. Other than breaking some strings onstage in a later band, that was definitely my worst gear-related moment.

My brother hit me with a classical guitar and nearly broke me leg a couple of years ago.
Thing is, the strap button at the back was broken, so when he hit me with it, it dug in and my leg started bleeding and swelled up withing about 2 minutes.
Theres still a noticeable scar and a half inch dent in the bone left.

when i first started playing...i was retarded and was tuning then bottem e string....got it too tight and it snapped and cut my right hand

Pick up my guitar, lean over to put a song on my ipod speakers (Purple Haze, I think...) Strap comes loose and 3 tuning pegs hit me in the head. Friend laughs at me, I take paracetamol for the headache.

Why was your strap attached to the machine head?

Probably when I was trying to put cap back on the collar on the inside of my ZR trem cavity, then I unscrewed things in the wrong order and the screws holding the plate into the back of the guitar ripped out and stripped the holes.

today, dropped it and the channel selector was knocked clean off. could have been much worse i guess
#39
I poked one of the wires in the electrics compartment that was attached to the pup selector switch (not hard, just doing a routine check) and the wire snapped clean off the switch.

I manage to re-solder it on, but it took about half and hour because it was really fiddly and annoying.

Well, basically I thought I was cool and my friend recently put strap locks on his squier strat (he just used washers.) Anyway, I decided to try a guitar flip and hit myself square in the ear. Never again.

Also, another time, still thinking I was cool, I decided "hey! I'M GONNA PLAY WITH MY TEETH!!!!! YEAH" not thinking about my braces. So I started, and the next thing I know, my high e string is stuck in my braces. I pull, and the strings snaps. Didn't feel so great on the teeth
