Any good songs to learn for sweep picking? I have been practicing using Zacky's part from Bat Country by A7x. I can play the sweep from the Dethklok theme but not cleanly.

Well yeah, I know I have to practice, but what are some songs with not super hard sweeping picking?

the reason sweep picking is in the advanced section is because its... not easy (to do well).

dont worry about songs just yet, learn about them first, what sweeping is, arpeggio inversions. its very easy and once you know and can pick them cleanly, you will just look at the song notated or listen to it and say, ok tahts obviously major, sounds like 2nd inversion, wikkid sik , eeasy.

so focus on actually learning them first. maybe, your choice ofcourse.

But there are easier sweeps, like Bat Country, or hard ones like Necrophaigist stuff. I am getting bored with bat country, so I want some recommendations. If I get bored with the song, I won't want to practice as much.

Try Psalm of Lydia. The arpeggios are fast, but the shapes aren't that hard.

They're not exactly "basic" shapes, however, and have quite a stretch. I'd suggest learning a few of the more common shapes before trying to learn a song. You end up trying to play the same speed as the song quite often and, well.... you just can't yet.

clearly, the goal is to convert every thread into a discussion about BTBAM

BTBAM IS ALWAYS RELEVANT

use the search key. Load's of threads for this, but off the top of my head:

Rusty Cooley-The Duel
Rusty Cooley-Under The Influence
Outworld (under RC on this site)-Riders
Yngwie Malmsteen-Blitzkreig
Dethklok-Thunderhorse
Jason Becker-Serrana
Jason Becker-Perpetual Burn
Nevrermore-Psalm of Lydia
Nevermore-Final Product

Some of those as a whole will be too hard probably, but take them slowly, and ALL have some relatively simple sweeps in them (serrana is pretty tough).

When the Water Breaks by Liquid Tension Experiment. The sweeping shapes in a couple of the solo's (there are about 10 solos in this song) are easy to finger but are fairly fast. It's a really fun song to play but it is long (17 minutes).
