My neighbour pretty much just gave me this amp, i'm not sure of how good it is. Hopefully somebody will be able to help me. He gave me the schematics to it and ill put them on here.

He also gave me some speakers which i'm not sure if they're any good. I'll chuck a pic of them in as well.

Is it possible to be able to tell if the amp is any good from those pics?

Speakers he gave me:

The speakers have venom speakers inside. That is about all i know.

i'm by no means an amp tech, and i really don't want to read through all that , but i can tell you that it's highly likely that it's a SS, because i read mosfet several times.
(mosftet = ..blablabla...Transistor )

looks like a home stereo amp
i don't think you could play your guitar through that.
even if you could, it'd sound wank

and those pictures are way too big, you ever heard the word "resize"?

jesus christ, at least put a warning in the thread title, you could freeze somebody's computer.
The Laney Thread are big and clever. No exceptions.

It's not a guitar amp, it's some kind of SS power amp, either for home stereo or PA purposes - if you wanted play guitar with it you'd need a suitable preamp and probably proper speakers too.

In short, don't bother.
Actually called Mark!

Holy hell, take a look at those transformers. Huge toroidal bastards.
Anyway, it's a Hi-fi amp, you could get a nice tube preamp and plug in but I still wouldn't expect anything amazing soundwise.

not to mension he'll wreck the speakers at higher volumes if they're HiFi too.

That would be perfect for playing a Pod (or other modeling box) through, if you want to go that route.

Otherwise it would be awesome for a home theatre.

I find that ironic.
Dont plug your digitech into because you wont be fine. Just buy an actual amp.

Good one Brainiac. Modelers normally do just fine into flat response systems like PAs and stereos. Sure the guy can go buy all kinds of new gear. But if he wants to use a stereo amp then the RP200 will do.
