Hello all. I picked up my Les Paul today, and I noticed my amp was very noisy but I figured that was coming from the PC, but I'm now getting some rather loud hum when the volume on the guitar is turned down. Any ideas what could be causing this?

My amp does this too, not sure what causes it. Doesn't interfere once I start playing though, I guess that's the main thing.

No, it doesn't change at all when I touch the strings or anywhere else. It only goes away completely if the volume is all the way up.
Edit: It does this with both pickups, no matter where I am in the room.

sounds like a bit of a shielding problem with the electrics

take your guitar to your local dealer and see what they can do for you!

Shielding is always a good idea, also check your guitar cable. They get yanked and stepped on a lot, if the outside woven ground gets damaged it can cause hum.
Hmmm...I wonder what this button does...
