Anyone in the Pit know what to do when your xbox live connection isn't connecting because it fails the "Wireless Network" part of the test? My wireless router isn't anymore than about 15 feet away, and I know it's working because I'm on the internet on my comp. It worked fine last night, but now all of a sudden I can not get connected to it. Any suggestions?

oh and if it helps at all its a NETGEAR wireless router

Maybe its the little wireless gateway you plug into the xbox.

Yeah that's what I thought, but I've unpluged it 3 times and pluged it back in and still won't connect.

I would lose the wireless and use a ethernet cable. Wireless connections are spotty and sometimes don't work.

did you enter the WEP code?

if your router is protected then it will have a WEP code and you can get it by logging into your router.

EDIT: if its only 15 feet away then use an ethernet cable and connect directly

No I did not, but I wouldn't think I'd need to seeing that it worked fine a couple hours ago and I havn't changed anything since then.

Edit: I don't have an ethernet cable that can go that far (it's 15 feet away, but there's a wall in between it)

Try doing a hard reset of the router. Remove it's power cable, wait about 30 seconds and put it back in. You don't even have to mess with settings afterward.

Ok it turns out the little wireless adapter thingy in the back of my xbox is the problem, not the router. When you turn on the xbox the little light on the wireless adapter is red/orange, not yellow/green.

I need to type in the SSID of the router. How do I find that out?
