I am on a tight budget, but
there is this one les paul studio at a shop in the area.
It is dark green w/ minor wear...(made in 90's)
It'll cost me $600 if I want to buy it.
You think I should buy it or no?

And yet, Billie Joe plays Gibson. Hmmm.

Are you saying because Billie Joe likes Green Day he isn't allowed to have a Gibson? That's terrifying.

I say get it, TS. I see those at my shops around here for 900-1000 usually.

buy it cus the price is good and cus gibson quality from the 90's is far better than the latest models...plus the color looks pretty cool, never seen a gibson lp studio in dark green...usually they sell black, white wine red and the sunburst...i think the guy who owned it before had it painted that color...

Just because gibson is more expensive doesnt mean its better...
the epiphone les paul ultra is unlike any gibson. gibson les paul ways about 12 pounds compared to 6 and half the epiphones sound better anyway.....
okay.......

What? It's not 1959 anymore you know? My Gibby is like 8 - 9 pounds. They've been weight relieving since the eighties. Only the Custom Shops weigh around 10 pounds

On a second note, my Gibby will tear any Epiphone to shreds.

+1 he is an idiot, hes dissing epiphone but gettin the cheapest gibson that is costing less than an epiphone + the elitist epiphone series and the higher end epiphones are a lot nicer than a gibson studio

Might as well throw it back on topic.

I'd get it too because it's Green. You don't see many green Les Pauls kicking around.

The Studio is far from the cheapest Gibson. As for the whole Elitist Epiphone thing, sure, they're great guitars. Better than a Studio? Depends on what you mean by better. The Elitist sure looks better and it might play better to some, but I like rounded profile necks and ebony boards, something the Elitists don't have.

You know what? Just go play a bunch of guitars and see which one you like best. We could go on and on about how you should buy this and that but when it all comes down to it, it's you who's going to be playing the axe, not us.
