Any thoughts? I hear they are both pretty good mid-priced guitars. Both are neck-thru designs. Both are mohogany. What do you think? I'm getting close to the purchase....

The Jackson is definitely better quality-wise, but they are both great guitars. Try them out and see which one you like best.

PinkEdit: The Jackson is also much more metal oriented, having EMGs and all.

What kind of music do you like to play?

Right off the bat, the Schecter would be more versatile. Quality wise, they're awesome guitars.

I'd have to say schecter aswell... i dont really care for jackson myself *shrugs*

I have a schecter omen 7 and a hellraiser, both excellent guitars even without EMG's
Great for metal/rock (and basically anything else you could want) as they came, would destroy with EMG's
