Okay, basically I'm not actually writing a song, but trying to find a good method of chord progression. I try with power chords, but they're too, "happy," and boring; I want something more agressive and complex! And I'm also an utter guitar nub, so don't really know much about music theory, tried looking into circle of fifths but agin I only know how to make power chords. Any help please?

It depends on the kind of music you are trying to create. Different styles of music do different things.

I never thought of power chords as being happy.

...or "anything", really. They're just intervals. Context will determine how they sound.
Someones knowledge of guitar companies spelling determines what amps you can own. Really smart people can own things like Framus because they sound like they might be spelled with a "y" but they aren't.
