learn how to harmonize. usually just have about 300-500ms delay and just stay in key and you should be good.

how would i go about getting a tone similar to the one he uses in the harmony delay?

and no, ive tried the settings he's used, and even tapping the same tempo, and i still cant get it.

you have to set the delay so that when it echoes the note, you are playing a harmony of that note
