So whitechapel posted a bulletin on myspace saying they were confirmed for Summer Slaughter '08. I asked them who else was playing, and the lineup so far is:
Whitechapel
Vader
Black Dahlia Murder
Cryptopsy
Kataklysm.

Thoughts?
I think it has potential to be a pretty good show.
#2
Good so far, but I'd like to see more bands like Ion Dissonance or Beneath The Massacre there again. Those guys owned the stage when I went.
#3
Hmm... might be an interesting opportunity to see Cryptopsy with the new line-up.

I can already tell you that I've seen vocalists' other band (3 Mile Scream) open for Cryptopsy twice, and he is utter ****. Hopefully he's got different vocal range than what I've heard...

Awesome, I can't wait to see Vader

its going to be insane
i might even be able to get backstage since one of my good friends knows flo from cryptopsy and he told her hed get her and some friends backstage
but i love kataklysm and vader and cryptopsy the most
so it should be an awesome show

Sounds great, why is Whitechapel on the lineup?

Hmm, if it comes my way, or if Necrophagist is on it and it comes within 2 or 3 hundred miles I'll be there.
Tour dates plz?
If you see me in the pit, know that I'm only there because the metal forum is moving slowly.

Sounds like a pretty good show. I'll definitely be there.

No thanks, I think I'll pass on this one. Vader would be nice to see live and I would see Cryptopsy to watch Flo destroy his kit, but the other bands are pretty gay. Kataklysm has been going downhill for years.
#14
Cryptopsy? Sweet.

If this was back in the day.

Not a good lineup so far. Vader is great but nothing much else to look forward too.

Well, As Blood Runs Black was on it last year. I guess every year, they need a band to please the pit ninjas.

Looks interesting.

Since when did fighting ninjas become "uncool", even if they are invisible, that only makes it more epic...

I can't wait to hear what Cryptopsy comes out with
#24
Quite looking forward to seeing TBDM again, they were flawless last time + new record is amazing.
I'm curious to see how Cryptopsy sounds now, and Kataklysm just destroys.

Necrophagist better get their album finished and be on this tour or I will be pissed. I want to see Beneath the Massacre, Cephalic Carnage, Arsis, and (I know its not going to happen but) Decapitated again. The Black Dahlia Murder is the only band so far that I would like to see.

Anyway, if this comes to Aus I'd be so fucking psyched. I'd make sure I'd get in somehow.

BDM - Horrible
Kataklysm - Kinda lame on cd, solid live.
Vader - One of the best bands in metal history.
Cryptopsy - Will more than likely suck from line up changes
Psycroptic - Awesome
The Faceless - Decent at best
Aborted - Good on cd, great live
Born of Osiris - Zzzzzz
Whitechapel - zzzzz

Don't get me wrong, I like deathcore as much as the next guy, but Summer Slaughter Tour is no place for core bands if you ask me.
