Hey, i'm borrowing a Strat from someone, and I noticed that instead of a normally strung guitar, he put his strings around the tuning peg so that they're on the left side of the peg. I've never seen this before, and it causes the strings to be at an angle before they get to the neck. I told my buddy he strung it wrong, and he said he did it for a reason. Which makes no sense because the E string kept popping out every 10 strums or so. So does anyone know if theirs a reason for this, or am I just dumb?
You're right, he's wrong. He probably breaks alot of strings.
Plus, if the nut gets banged a little, it might unsettle easier because the strings are constantly trying to force it to the left (or the ceiling, depending on perspective).
