I have narrowed my choices down to getting either a Yamaha Pacifica 112/112v (depending on avaliability) or a Vintage v6. I have a budget of 150 pounds so I'm planning to buy on ebay. Since I have never owned an electric guitar (only an acoustic which I can only play a few chords on) I'd appreciate some help. I'd probably like to play mostly red hot chili peppers (more recent stuff ie. by the way onwards generation) but also some coldplay/arctic monkeys/ some slower tunes when relaxing.

Opinions on which guitar would be best?

you could get a squier HSS strat or upgrade to a regular fender fat strat for like $499
i found a new fender HSS fat strat for 399 at guitar center. either way try to get a guitar that has a humbucker and single coil pick ups. since your a beginner you might change your taste and want the versatility

actually scratch the 150 pounds- its more like 125 (244 dollars)

Does anyone actually know anything about the vintage v6? I heard vintage is a good make but I haven't heard how good this particular one is. Btw I'm gonna be using a roland microcube.
