ok so ive recently started playing bass in a prasie band at my friends church, its pretty sweet, and we've been writing some stuff, but i was wondering if u guys knew of any songs that would b appropriate, and mayb even where to get the music for them. We dont play like hymns or anythying, but we also dont play As I Lay Dying haha so its kinda like acoustic rock, so anything that would fit in there, even its like a new take on an old song or w/e just any help would b great

thanks guys

I got my first guitar recently and people are telling me to get pickups. I don't get it. What do they do? Do they help you when you drop your pick?

I Cum Blood.

Now that that's out of the way... I'm no Christian myself, far from it. But I've heard that Hillsong is a good Christian band. Try some of their stuff.

Yeah Hillsong United has a lot of good songs to play - They're a bit challenging for people who are inexperienced though. They're not the kind of songs where you just play 3 chords and sing.
I say the favorites at my church seem to be:
Hosanna
Tell the World
Salvation is Here
Not to Us (Chris Tomlin)
and so forth.

Why did I think that was going to be one of the first 3 replies?

Granted, they're crap, but they're decent.

Delirious?
Hillsong United
Lincoln Brewster (Youtube "Everlasting God", I Love It!)
Matt Redman
Anything from the Soul Survivor albums
Third Day (Again, a fave of mine!)
Tim Hughes.

I'd try the DC Band, Lincoln Brewster and Third Day.
They're all rocky but praise-y at the same time!
