I always envision a pirate ship and somewhere on that ship is a pirate playing away on an acoustic guitar. How may I realize what it is this pirate is playing? Are there any scales or chord progressions that sound reminiscent of pirate times and those sorts of Carribean hardships? Also, I think the same of a guy on a plantation playing away. How can I tap into the potential of these ancient sounds?

Natural minor. Take some celtic music and swing it in 6/8... that's a start I guess.

Pirate music is in no way "ancient."

And also, no one knows what Jesus looked like. He most likely wasn't white and didn't look as scruffy and grungy as we'd like.

This is probably a thread hijack, but what about Russian acoustic guitar? Like sitting round a camp fire in full camo with an AK on the floor next to you?

Like on STALKER game?

That would be pretty cool

are you talking about a real Russian guitar(i.e. 7 string) or about Russian style music on acoustic?

No. Everybody dies. And one day, given that your relationship doesn't crash and burn like so many do, one of you will end up deep in sorrow while watching the other one die.
