never really liked the stuff. personaly i feel ur paying to advertise but then again i wear band tee shirts so that may be hypocritical. either way wat do u think about preppy stores?
#2
I think they charge WAY to much for a damn t-shirt with some crappy logo on it.

Give me a band shirt or a cheap sport coat any day.

EDIT: I have nothing against those who wear the clothes, I simply choose not to purchase them.

I hate those places. I don't see why you'd pay $30 for a freakin T-shirt.

agreed a simple band shirt will be good for my wallet instead of a 35 dollar sweatshirt

I wear their stuff sometimes.

I also occasionally wear a pink-and-blue striped dress jacket from the '80s that my uncle gave me. Other times, I wear thrift store stuff. And some times, A Maylene and The Sons of Disaster shirt.

I don't really like the clothes that much and they are really over-priced, people think I'm weird because I don't want to pay $50 for a shirt and $80+ for a pair of jeans.

i wear polos and such but I just like the look and how they feel, i also wear undershirts with jeans, its not really a big deal, just wear what you feel like

Actually a T at AE or Hollister is like 15 bucks. at Hot Topic or PacSun its like 20-25 bucks. So Ya. Actually not that much more. Unless u shop at target clothes cost alot.

I happen to be preppy/ Skater/ Scene all in one.

I've found better deals on clothing at stores like Aeropostale that last longer then some bands tees I have and the only logo is on the inside tag.

I got a few sweatshirts of theirs from family, I <3 their clothes. Not so much their prices, but I'd say it's worth it.

I think it's a waste of money. You could get, like, three normal shirts for the price of one of their shirts.

Other than that, in the end, it's all really just clothes.

i wear hollister jeans because they are amazing and i get them for $20 on the sale rack, and what i think is ridicules is spending $20 on a tee shirt at hot topic

That's because Hot Topic is actually MORE expensive for clothes that look stupid and probably fall apart after a month.

no i have many 10 dollar shirts that ive had for years. still intact.

i play in a death metal and thrash band but i wear american eagle in hollister clothes (because they're comfy and i like getting laid periodically), i think the kids who HAVE TO look "metal" all the time when they bought there band tees at Hot Topic instead of shows, are the biggest posers ever

why does this matter.

/rhetoric.
Most people place a lot of importance on how they appear, and what they're associated with. It's the nature of our society.

i honestly actually like AE cuz it is comfy but hollister just gets me cuz of all the poser 11 year olds in my city acting just ****ing bratty. that just gets me
#32
let me refer you back to "pimps and *****s". Corporations are the pimps and the brain dead teenager consumers are the *****s.
The pimps sell the merchandise to the *****s. The *****s strut the **** around and sell it with out knowing it. They think that they will fit in if they look like every body else. If it works they just sold the look to some other unsuspecting fool who thinks that it will make them look cool if they wear it too. Band tee's are different, we wear them supporting bands(making them money) so they keep putting out albums and play shows, you dont want your favorite band to die off do you?
#33
They are nice clothes, made well, durable, and comfortable. They fit nice too if you have the body.

Unfortunately, they are a total red flag about having absolutely no sense of style. They're nice clothes and that's why people bought them, then people bought them because everyone bought them, and now you're a tool for wearing it because really stupid rich people own their clothes. They're nice, but their so goddamn generic.

Magicedit: Personally, I think half the stores mentioned in this thread are just as stupidly trendy. Namely Pac Sun, Hot Topic, Zumiez, and even Urban Outfitters is getting there.

I wish I could get deals like that, in the AE/Hollister stores near me I can't find a pair of jeans under $60, and anything that looks remotely interesting is always over $80.

i know, and that's why it was rhetorical. and i think it would change if people would stop once and awhile and ask themselves why it is that they invest so much emotion into such trivial things. plus it's mostly just high school bullshit.
