all right i need a guitar to amp recording interface that i on the cheaper side ($100 - $200). i have a copy of cubase so software is not an issue. ill probably be recording bass, piano and keyboards as well as guitar. thanks guys.

you might consider a lexicon lambda, they have guitar, mic, midi inputs and are pretty cheap.

They also are noisy as hell, and very prone to breaking at the slightest drop.

A line6 Toneport UX2 would be great for keys & guitars, and leaves you with the ability to have 2 room mics for piano. If your willing to only record keyboard, the Toneport GX is a very cheap and easy option.

We use the Lexicons in two of our guitar rooms, directly into macs with protools or cubase.
It works and the sound is pretty good. No complaints there.
I'm thinking of buying the Lambda to use with my laptop also.
