Unfortunately the word phone is Greek and the Greeks have these long letter sounds such as omega (long o) and eta (long e as in air). So I pronounce it how I've been taught it in Greek class.

EDIT- Here's it in Greek font- επιφονη

I believe the proper pronunciation is not important because the underpaid workers in Thailand who make the pieces of **** don't even know what a guitar is, so how can we expect them to pronounce the arbitrary brand name chosen for Gibson's cheap knock-off merchandise?
