.. attachment leads to suffering. 70 gigabytes worth of music. gone.

the moral of this story: do not use external hard drives. apparently after a few years they just die. bak to the drawing board. have you ever lost all your music?

sucks, doesn't it? thankfully i still have my CDs and some stuff on my zune (if i can get the damn thing to work). there's always cheap CDs on half.com i guess.

Aww man I've had that happen. Not nearly that much music though. I always thought external hard drives were the way to go?

Davey

I'll send you the entire Kate Bush discography next time you're online and once I bother to forward my ports, if you like.

That sucks, if I remember correctly the principle is 'Annica' - time turns a beautifull flower into uglyness and death etc.. I'll probably loose my music some day I havent got it backed up.

For the record the Buddha is neither jolly nor overweight.

That's Hoti.

Buddha's got the long ears. Hoti's the tubbalard.

Oh man that sucks

I remember when I thought I had lost 5 months of photos, my music and all my porn. Turns out it was just the powersupply to my external that was faulty but damn I felt so sad until I found out. Luckily I learned the lesson without having to get any consequences (that time...).

I was actually downloading the contents of my external HD to my new computer - about 40 gigs of music and photos.

10% done and then WHAM!! I tripped over the cable and destroyed the drive.

Thats why I use CD's exclusively. (That sounded dickish, seriously I feel sorry for you, and for once in my life I think I actually mean it.)
#21
That blows, happened to me once. I really just rip all my cds though, so no big loss like this.

Damn, that's horrible. I suggest TWO EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES!!! One just for backup. I don't have the funding for even one though...
#25
Damn, now we need harddrives to back up other harddrives!

That sucks davey.

know what's hilarious? my zune needs to be repaired as well. won't get that info back either. anyways ... i made a list of the music i NEED back. the essentials you know. i have a lots of CDs it'll just be a bitch to find them. i just need patience. patience. it'll be a few days without music at least though. this will suck.

i uploaded a lot of CDs to my friends computer though. so ill copy them back from his. put them on my new internal hard drive when i get it back. i might be able to save my limewire files. had i taken it in earlier i MIGHT have been able to save a majority of the music but i was convinced i just accidentally deleted them. should have done it sooner.

no matter. there was a LOT of music i never really listened to. this could be a nice purgation to save space on the computer by sorting out what i actually listen to regularly (which is still a lot).

rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

oh dear. i lost all my old loveline episodes as well. oh well. there's only so many times you can listen to the same radio show.
