if anybody says Slash, I'll come smack you. When he plays solos between his legs, he's jerking off his guitar. What a tool.

And Tom Morello although sometimes that looks a bit silly.

Oh Slash Slash!! Seriously he's cool though, I'd say Jimmy Page, just basic legs half open waist height.

That guy in that band that holds his guitar to the side. You knows, its on a strap, it comes down to his stomach sort of area, and the neck is to one side, and he holds one hand on the neck, and the other is nearer the pickups and it strums. Thats who I think holds the guitar the best.

What a silly thread. This thread is silly. Byeeeeeee.

Anyway, I like the way Duane Allman and Frank Zappa hold it.

I love you =] I can't say I was very fond of you when we first started talking because you trolled the hell out of my threads, but after talking to you here I've grown very attached to you.

Yeah, write to my fanclub about it, honey.

lol, owned ^^

There's no best way... it's just has to fit and be comfortable when you play.... I've got my stratocaster a bit more up the stomach, and the les paul more between my legs (a la Page), it really depends on what you like.

probs gonna get quick a bit of flack for this, but im gonna say dave grohl, well, not so much how he holds his guitar as his whole power-pose. hes not the only one to do that, but it looks fing good especially considering the combination of his really powerful vocals espec in songs like "best of you".

thats my opinion.

oh yea, and worst is skate-rockers who play with guitar hanging around their bloody ankles. lame

It's probably not the 'best' way, but I find the way that Billie Joe Armstrong and Slash hold their guitars to be the most comfortable; low and at a steep angle. But I'm a bit of an exception anyway; nerve problems in my right arm mean I have to have the guitar at a pretty extreme angle like they do or I can't even keep a grip on the pick. I imagine for most other people, they'd want the body of the guitar to rest higher and the neck to not be at such an angle.

what about fieldy? super low and virtually vertical! looks like weird and almost 'gangsta' but its amazingly comfortable, easy to play and good on the back too!

I saw a video of Iommi doing a solo back in the 70's. He just drops his hair down, stares at the neck, and solos (sp?).

Yeah, Page looks like he has a scoliosis screening going on. Also, when Les Claypool does a bass solo, he doesn't even look like he is trying.

Gilbert, but i cant quite describe why, possibly the way it sits on him like its just another limb, or just because I'm a Paul Gilbert fanboy.
