This is probably gonna die soon, but at least it's worth a try.

This is a thread about little old Wales!

talk about anything from sheep, how well we're doing in the Six Nations, or anything to do with Wales!

and to start things off, who here can pronounce this:

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

for anyone who wants to know, it translates as:

'St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave'.

As an Englishman living just on the English side of the Welsh/English border, I can't but help hear stories about local sheep being victimised by the Taff :P

I gotta go to Wales this weekend and I'm fucking annoyed. I could be going to my mates party but NO, I gotta go to a WEDDING in WALES.

I hate weddings.

And it being in Wales doesn't help.

I live near Denbigh in North Wales...

We have the most awesome flag in the world.

I can pronounce Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch my Grandad lives there. Course we could be simple and just call it Llanfair PG but that boring.

I lost my voice this weekend because I was cheering too much after the Wales Italy game.

I mean, 47-8. Boy was I proud to be Welsh.

Any one else thinking grand slam? we could do it now.... or at least take the title anyway.

Would make a nice change from the wooden spoon!

Irish Thread > All

Wales isn't a horrible place though, I've spent quite a lot of time there - much more than any other country besides Ireland. At the same time, makes me appreciate my home (as does anywhere in the UK). No offense meant, home sweet home and all that...

Is it true leek soup is the national dish?

I also heard when a new house is built, you take a leek and touch all around the doorways with it to bless the house. Yay or Nae?

I think the national dish is cheese on toast... which is even more lazy than leek soup.

Never heared of the leak around the doors thing, but then again I've never built a house either
