The Fall Of Troy is kind of like them, but without the softer parts.
Moss Icon is kind of like them, but mostly the softer parts.

If you're into CTTS's more build-up songs you would like City of Caterpillar if you don't already.

might be more suitable in the hardcore forum, but i figured i'd try here. can anyone recommend a good band (lots of energy, a bit of a heavy edge to them) like the blood brothers (BPIP - Young Machetes era), at the drive-in, glassjaw, mewithoutYou, death from above 1979, and to a lesser extent chiodos and circa survive.

basically not quite hardcore bands with a bit of musicianship and melody.
preferably no recommendations of spin-off bands (mars volta, sparta, jaguar love, united nations)
oh and NO fall of troy.

Thanks.
I've tried and failed twice to get into B vs. S but my tastes have changed a little these days. Third time's a charm, right?

Love (old) As Cities Burn, and though i don't listen to them alot, these arms are snakes are good.

i'm liking what i've heard of trophy scars thus far, will give the other two a butchers later. thanks for the recommendations.

I never get sick of Tokio Hotel! It's an awesome band, I feel like learning German just so I can understand what they're singing. Also love singing Monsoon on Rock Band 2...its a pretty song.
A power bigger than the pain.

can someone give me some bands with a similar sound to mewithoutYou except maybe with more melodic vocals?

the sound I want to hear is hard to explain if you don't know what I'm talking about.

^Moving Mountains maybe?

The similarities are somewhat vague, but they both incorporate the very spacey sounding guitar mixed with post-hardcore tendencies.

that's pretty much what I'm looking for, except I don't really want something that heavy which usually will or will not fall into that category :/

I'll check out moving mountains. thanks.

Edit: dude. moving mountains are sweet!

Any recommendations of pop punk bands similar to all time low, mayday parade, we the kings etc.? This has probably been asked 100 times throughout this thread but I don't have to time to read every post.

I'm lookin for GOOD pop punk like The Ergs etc. The stronger the punk influence the better. Thanks in advance!

Oh and to the above, you probably know most of these bands, but Cute is What We Aim For, Forever The Sickest Kids, These Silhouettes. Basically, go to warpedtour.com and read the band list. Pick any of the above.
It's really power pop, not pop punk

Seeing as most guys generally say fall out boy and basshunter suck (this is what I've heard and liked), are there better pop bands out there?

What I'm looking for is mostly interesting vocal melodies. I've never really cared about lyrics or anything like that (except for flow, can't stand lyrics without flow).

Other bands/artists I like are:
Blue oyster cult COB Dreamtheater Eagles Flogging molly GunsNroses Hendrix Satriani Coltrane Lynyrd Skynyrd Metallica Megadeth Opeth Pantera Vai Tenacious D Living end Offspring Who Beatles Duke ellington and any baroque and romantic classical music I can find.
#199
Hmm, well to be honest I don't think you really know what emo or screamo is, but I'll help you out anyways.

Some emo bands to check out:
Sunny Day Real Estate
Rites of Spring
Cap'n Jazz
Texas Is the Reason
The Get Up Kids
Mineral
American Football

Screamo:
Hot Cross
Envy
Saetia
Funeral Diner
Circle Takes the Square
Orchid
Ampere

also, just take a look at the first pages of the big emo and screamo threads. They explain a lot about the genre and recommend some bands.
#200
omg thanks! i guess i got metal core and screamo mixed up. oh, and is ETFs "The cellar door"
considered a punk pop song?
