I heard B.C. Rich's Warlocks were amazing metal guitars and are definatly on my list at the moment. I heard Ibanez's were great metal guitars but im not sure what series. I play alot of metal (Bands such as As I Lay Dying, I Killed The Prom Queen, As Blood Runs Black, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Pantera for examples).

I would go with either a Schecter or an ESP. I just bought an Alexi Laiho LTD model for $699.99 at Samash.com. It really doesn't get more metal than Children of Bodom, so yeah. EMG 81 or Blackout pickups will do you good. You can find some great deals on eBay for that price range, but if you want a new guitar, a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 or C-1FR will do.
Main setup:

ESP Eclipse
PRS Torero SE
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Roadster head, 2x12 cab
FX: Crybaby Slash Wah, Ibanez TS9x, Mesa Boogie Throttle Box, Boss TU-2, BF-3, DD-3, PS-6, RC-3, etc.

Thanks for the help guys. What do you guys think of the Warlock tho?

It sucks balls. I used to have one and I was sick of it so I traded it for a strat copy. The strat was actually better for metal.

The Warlock neck is awful, the pickups sound like butt, and the shape makes it impossible to comfortably play while sitting down. It's about as metal as half a roll of tin foil.

Personally it depends on other factors like what kind of trem you want, what kind of neck, etc. Dean Hardtails are good if you don't want a trem but the finished neck makes it a bit hard to shred on. You can't go wrong with an Ibanez RG since that way you can play other kinds of music when you feel like it, but most of them have Floyd Rose trems which isn't good if you like to detune.

I say go with a PRS. I'm an Ibanez man myself but PRS makes damn good guitars. After I heard Opeth used them I tried a few out and they seem great for all kinds of music. The more expensive ($3,000+)ones are even nicer then JEMS in my opinion, and I love JEMS.

The Dan Jacobs sig is $1000+USD
The Alexi-600 is $1000+USD, any version lower than 600 isn't worth it
Please of the love of guitars don't buy the Warlock

The Schecter is a nice guitar though along with the Ibanezs

Definitely a Hellraiser. It's even more versatile this year, in case you decide you don't want to explicitly play metal.

This is UG, we love Schecters and Ibanez and Jacksons, we hate Deans and BCR's, we hate Marshall MG's, and everyone needs a new amp.

The question is, do you want a locking trem or not? I'm going to guess you do, so I'd say
Jackson: DKMG
Ibanez:RG1570
Schecter: C-1 Hellraiser FR (FR denotes a Floyd Rose)
ESP:LTD MH400
(This is assuming you want a superstrat)

If you don't want a locking trem:
Jackson: the hardtail version of the DKMG
Schecter: C-1 Hellraiser
ESP: LTD EC-500 (more les paul-looking)
Ibanez: VBT700 (flying v)
Current Gear:
LTD MH-400 with Gotoh GE1996T (EMG 85/60)
PRS SE Custom 24 (Suhr SSH+/SSV)
Ibanez RG3120 Prestige (Dimarzio Titans)
Squier Vintage Modified 70s Jazz V
Audient iD22 interface
Peavey Revalver 4, UAD Friedman BE100/DS40
Adam S3A monitors

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
