So I'm looking to buy a tube amp eventually, and I've got it down to three contenders - the Peavey Valveking 112, the Peavey Classic 30, or the Palomino V16 (or V32, if I can get it for cheap). I can pretty much afford all three, so price isn't really an issue.

I'd say I play about 70% classic rock, 20% metal, and 10% bluesy stuff. As my sig indicates, I've got a stock Highway One Strat. I'm willing to buy pedals and stuff to change the sound, so any built-in effects are just a courtesy. Basically, which one sounds the best?

My personal favorite's the Classic 30... the Valveking sounds really sterile to me. Still, I really hope you're not planning on buying one without trying it first.

I will be trying it out, but I'd also like some other opinions.

Go with the Classic 30. It's the best choice for you.

Classic will do Classic Rock and Blues great.. Metal will require a pedal, it wont be that good, but plausible.
