i disagree with the 5150--i think peavey makes better amps then the 5150, like the JSX or XXX,

check other brands too
do you want tube or SS?

The DSL is an amp you're going to want to try first. It's a kind of amp that can do many things but is kind of mediocre in the sound department.

If you want to go grunge and rock, try something like a Peavey Classic 30 or its contemporaries. The British voiced amps are great for rock and the best grunge sounds are usually pedals anyways so you should be all set.

The Marshall 2266 is a tweaker. You're not going to get a great sound immediately. You're going to have to play with the settings for a bit before you find a tone you might like. It also can't do really heavy rock music on its own. It'll need a bit of a boost.

PROTIP: Use less abbreviations, they get confusing.

If you plan on using the amp you already have for your normal music and just want another head for br00talz, just find a used 5150 or even a brand new 6505 is about $1000.

Edit: On second thought, sell your current amp and just buy a Mesa Mark IV .

The 6505/5150 is too 'br00talz' for grunge and rock.
