I just noticed that my bridge pickup is not f-spaced. And It should be.

will a f-spaced pickup fit in a standard mounting ring?

Yep. The difference is just the spacing of the pole pieces.. the overall pickup dimensions are the same.

I've been told by several 'boutique' pickup winders that pole spacing isn't significant. I can't say as tho i've noticed any detrimental effects when using a non f-spaced pickup in a strat style spaced instrument.

There was an older much wider bridge string spacing used on strats. But most stuff now is pretty close on spacing. The pickups in my strat are the same spacing as the one your outs in my LP. If your outer strings are way to the outside of the poles then maybe its a problem.

yeah. bout 4 to 5 mm offset from center of the poles... might put in a Dimarzio Super Distotion...
