i searched for this but i couldnt see anything - sorry if there is something.

so whats the worst thing thats happened to you onstage? cables falling out, forgetting cues etc.

probably the worst thing for me was when my band came in at different times at certain bit in a song because my drummers cymbal stand fell. managed to redeem ourselves after but it looked a bit sloppy.

so share your horrors

Probably last night. At church I was playing bass for the first time with the band. I was just playing the bass notes, but I messed up a few times, cause I couldn't even hear myself. No one noticed though.
I can honestly say I have really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

on the last chord of our set (just me and another guy both on guitar), meant to be just an open e chord.

he plays an A.

Was really funny and not at all like him, so i didnt mind.

sounded godawful though. Oh, and i sang too.

i slid right off the stage in highschool, holding my first ever guitar, in front of 400 people, that was a long time ago, but, i still get made fun of for it, and now I join in on making fun of myself for it.

Not so much my mistake, but we were forced to keep our instruments under the stage until we had to play (it was a variety show type thing) and we weren't allowed to check our instruments before playing, being in a strict time slot and in front of the 1,200 students and staff of the school. Unfortunately, my bass keys had been sickeningly turned while under the stage, and I had to play the whole set despairingly flat, since I wasn't experienced enough to quickly tune by ear.
I cried shortly after.
The will to neither strive nor cry,
The power to feel with others give.
Calm, calm me more; nor let me die
Before I have begun to live.

There was one time that I was playing in my Christian Union meeting. Normally we play three groups of three songs, at the start, middle and end of the meeting.

We'd already played one set and sat down whilst the news and stuff was read out. To stop the bass from causing feedback if the cable accidently comes out I turn down the volume switch of my bass and then put it on the stand.

We got back up to play again and the band kicked off. It was only until the bandleader announced over the mic that there was no bass that I realised that I hadn't turned myself back up and I was strumming away with nothing coming through the PA.

I also, in the same meeting, managed to dent the floor tom. The room we were using was really tight and all the equipment for the band had to be set up in a tiny space, meaning getting back to our seats at the front is lethal at times. This time I caught a piece of the drumkit, knocked over the ride cymbal and gave the floor tom a kick.

Cringe.

Playing at a school talent show

We were playing American Idiot, which was a mistake in itself really.

But my guitar slowly started going a bit flat, so i quickly tuned it up at the part with no guitar. But then i was to join in again, and my guitar was too high and sounded **** for that verse. But then it tuned it quickly again and it was fine.

But that song

once, the other guitarist's guitar's volume wasn't on, but he turned it on and did it at a good time so it was okay
also our drummer hit one of his cymbals too hard and it fell over and also knocked over his hi hat

Are you cable steppers aware that if you thread the cable between you're strap and guitar before you plug in it won't fall out of you step on it?

edit: damn that cap'n'curry! always one steap ahead!

jesus christ! thats horrific.

i actually just remembered the time my other band decided onstage at the last second to do an impromptu rendition of day tripper. but i was pretty drunk throughtout this gig and couldnt remember how to play the chorus, so you can imagine how it sounded haha.

when i was at a school battle of the bands they told us not to jump off of stuff (which sucks) along with a lot of other stuff. well near the end of iron man (the part where you hit the E string open two times) i decided to climb onto and then jump off of one of the amps (which pissed off the principle). well right after that i played the end part with my guitar behind my head and the principle whom i pissed off came out on stage and tried to yank the chord out of my guitar while i was playing it behind my head, the problem is the way i had put the chord in my guitar and when he yanked the chord i fell over and almost got my head smashed by my guitar.
