I play mostly metal but I also play some My chemical romance , Queen, guns n roses. So the guitar must be pretty versatile. My price range is about £350. (Will spend a little more) I am thinking if maybe possible a guitar wity a whammy and is shredable.
Ive been looking into an Ibanez S470 what do you guys think?

I was just gonna recommend an S470.

As always, shop around a bit though, but (with a change of pickups), an s470 is a mean piece of kit.
Gear:
Ibanez S470 (EMG 81/S/85)
Sigma DMC-15E
Laney VH100R
Laney 4x12 Cab
Ibanez Weeping Demon
M-Audio ProKeys 88
Mbox 3 Pro
KRK RP6 G2's
Plum Team FTW!

Surely you could play My Chemical Romance by putting some elastic bands around an empty tissue box and strumming?

Well the thing is I cant really try many guitars out because all the guitar shops near me just sell like 7 Les Pauls in different colours.

First, any guitar is 'shreddable'. You don't need a freakishly thin neck and 100 frets to shred; pretty much every type of guitar in the world has been used to shred at some point.
Second, I wouldn't advise you get a guitar with a tremolo system. The trems on cheaper guitars tend to be really awful, and the few that aren't entirely useless normally either have limited range, or the guitar sucks in other ways to 'compensate' for the better bridge (often meaning zero sustain, worse body wood, etc)

So, to that end... versatile? GnR? MCR? You need a Les Paul.

For £350, you could get an Epiphone Les Paul Custom, or save up a bit more and get the Custom EX with either EMG active pickups (more metal) or Dirty Fingers passive pickups (more versatile - probably more suitable for you).

Failing that, you could try a mid-range ESP/LTD guitar. They do a number of good guitars in your price range, all of which are fine (so long as you buy above the '50' series). You could pick out pretty much whatever body shape you wanted (so if you don't like LPs, this would be a great way to go), and you couldn't lose really.

Thankyou my first good answer.

The ZR trem on the s470 isn't a low-end one, mind. I think its awesome (but of course I'm gonna be slightly biased as I own the thing).

But, guitar12 does make some very good points. Unless you feel you'll really need the trem, (obviously) there's very little point.
