Okay, so i've got a first generation iPod Nano. I've had it for about 2 years. But recently this problem occured. IT WON'T SWITCH OFF It's the same buttons you use to play/pause, and when doing this it works fine. But when holding the button down to switch it off, nothing happens.

So now I can't really listen to my iPod when I'm out and about, because the battery just runs out.

So is my iPod f***ed or is it possible to fix?

If you don't feel like getting a new one, just hit pause, and let it sit there, it will automaticaly turn off.

Just pause the music and lock it.

I'll try that, but I listened to it in the car on the way to school this morning and I'm sure I paused it and locked it, and at the end of the day it had run out of battery

But I may not of paused and locked it, I'll give it a go. Thanks.

have u tried resetting it? sometimes that fixes button glitches

flick the hold on, then off, then hold down the center and top part of the scroll wheel until it shuts off, release, and let it reboot

My old MP3 player did this. I let it run itself outta battery, recharged it, it did it again, and i recharged it once more. Somehow it sorted itself out third time round
