Hey guys, I was wondering what difference the age of a neck would have on sound and playing for an electric guitar?

I was also wondering your opinion on walnut necks?

An aged neck, like on a well use guitar will generally lead to a worn in neck.

Its like comparing your favorite pair of jeans to brand new ones, which ones feel better?

As for walnut necks, ive never played one

Ibanez Jem 777BK, Carvin DC727, Fender MIM Strat
Mesa Boogie DC5
Xotic BB Preamp, Ts9, BBE GS, Boss DD-6
Weber Mass
Morley Bad Horsie 2

I read that if an old neck is straight it will remain so for YEARS. It's had time to settle and has become worn in from playing so many years it will be extra reliable. Unlike new neck that haven't settled and have a chance of bowing those old ones supposedly won't.
