If you're playing metal you're much better off with a Peavey 5150 or XXX.

for real ?!?!

ok but what if on the off chance i still get a marshall tube amp still which one ?!?!

You're honestly better off looking outside of Marshall, tbh.

But here's a list of Marshalls that could do what you want:

JCM800 - THE thrash amp. Not so much gain, but stick a boost infront of it and you have a nice Megadeth / Slayer tone. They come in both single and dual channel, you'd have to look used for them though. The dual channel is very similar to the...

JCM900 - Like the 800, but with more gain. Less of a 'classic' tone, and more modern voiced.

JCM2000 - Newer JCM range. VERY modern voiced, plenty of gain. I personally hate them, I'm trying to sell mine.

JVM - IMO, similar to a 2000, but much more versatile.

dude, don't get marshall, there are hundreds of great amps out there for cheaper that sound better, just because its a little known brand that your favourite guitarist doesn't use, doesn't mean its not good

Thats becuase everything below the JCM2000 is discontinued.

You're gonna have to look used.

And they DO have them on the website, even the discontinued ones.

maybe a JCM900 would be good YES ?!?!

Cleans are muddy, high gain is either muddy or fizzy, no in-between. Plus I'm more of a plexi guy, and IMO, the 2000 is NOT what a marshall should sound like.

The 900 would suit your needs well, if you really MUST have a marshall.

cause i want to add an effects loop to it cause this damn laney LX35 i have just sonds BAD and there no gain whatsoever and the sounds areall mixed togeter even witha single distorion and when all strings are played at once it gives this damn pissing noise like uhh so hard to explain

Thanks so much man really hey umm what would the price be man
#27
900s have an effects loop, as far as I'm aware.

What pedals will you be using?

EDIT: They go used for £300-£450 odd depending on what model. Dunno what the pricing would be in your area though.

stuff like metal master and dime cry baby..your comments pleasse you know what your doin
#29
cool what about brand new??

casue singapore doesnt really havea big market for used marshalls as far as i kknwo
FREAKIN SMALL COUNTRY

Metal Master? God no.

You'll have no need for that when you have a decent amp. The Dime Cry Baby is a nice wah though, good choice there.

Brand new they're excessivly expensive, and you can only buy a re-issue.

If you want brand new, I'd advise against it. Theres a lot more for your money out there than a JCM900 re-issue

so what are your ideas
#34
Yeah.

If you want more gain out of it, use an Overdrive pedal.

Cheap ones would be things like a Digitech Bad Monkey, or a Boss SD-1

More expensive and better ones would be pedals like a Tubescreamer, or Fulltone OCD

Look used for the JCM900 if you want a Marshall.

Otherwise, have a look at the Randall RG50TC combo. Reasonably priced and great for metal.

ohh thanks man..hey the FX loop id just on all of them at once then have themsatable with each other right

Wut?

That made no sense

TBH, you wont really NEED an effects loop, unless you're running things like Phasers, Flangers, Chorus etc

Overdrive pedals and your wah can just go infront of the amp.

EDIT: Unless you NEED a head + cab, just go for a combo.

Well one metal master sounds like ass. I have no idea why you'd want to try two at the same time.
