basically i have spent alot of time recently gathering info about possible new amps

i have narrowed it down to these few, i want to play anything from clapton and bb king to AC/DC to guns n roses

i am also gonna buy an OD and distortion pedal to help with this

here are the amps

-Fender Blues Junior
-Orange tiny terror (+ a cab)
-Blackheart(not sure which one atm)
- Laney VC30

the OD pedal im gonna buy is the Digitech screamin blues and the distortion is probably either the EHX little big muff or the BOSS distortion

so hit me with views and other possible suggestions for mid to low gain tube amps, cheers

Maybe a classic 30?
And btw, the big muff is more of a fuzz pedal (think Frusciante solos) so it wont really get the guns n roses sound.

dont purchase the screaming blues. get the Boss Blues Driver. everyone here loves them
#4
the tiny terror and the laney are just superior to the other two for your needs...also you could get something better for OD pedas, the one youmentioned is not that good

I own a blues junior and i personally love it. but if you want 30 watts get the Laney.

Don't get the Blues Driver. Modded BD pedals are badass, but stock ones aren't.

Well the VC wins for bluesy thick cleans.

But i havent played and of the others.

ABY them. Id be tempted to go with the BJ, but theyre very overpriced around here.

well sorry that we dont all have the cash for JCM 900 half stacks with american strats

if you're going to be gigging/jamming, you should go for the vc30, considering it has more available cleans at high volumes and is just a better value in the uk than the blues junior.

and a modded blues driver does wonders for blues. stock it's just way too tinny and annoying.

thats completely irrelevant. You said everyone here loves them, not everyone here who cant afford good gear.

That said, stock BD2's sound like ass.

You didnt once compare it though, all you said was not to get the Digitech. And you made the assumption that everyone loves the Blues Driver, which as you can see, is anything but true.

There's a wide chasm between the tones from a Blues Jr and an Orange Tiny Terror. The Laney's a nice compromise between the two, and as mentioned gives you the added power for cleans at gigging volumes.

I'm guessing you're in the UK/Europe... ? Laney's are a great value there. If you're in North America, a Peavey Classic 30 or Traynor YCV 40 would be an even better choice.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.

wow thanks people especially beckyjc who has comented on almost every "which amp" thread i have posted, ok so i shall look at the blue driver and compare it to the blues screamer and i know there is a difference between the blues junior and the TT but i rekon if i get the TT i can crank it for the ac/dc sound and use a dist. pedal for the guns sound, and it is a very good amp so i rekon TT and a cab, any other suggestions are welcome but for me that seems the way to go.

also i am in the UK for anyone who wants to reccomend other amps

haha Great response. It's called having a job. JCM900 heads are extremely cheap to purchase used.

Anyways, you should look into the Maxon and Ibanez OD's.

Try a H&K statesman. Awesome amps, bought the 20w version the other day. Cleans are amazing, drive is nice and can get from awesome blues, right up to GNR without a pedal. It's not really a gainy amp, but drive channel will get up to JCM800ish gain with the boost.

Oh, and did i mention....the cleans are amazing...

...which is far more important than drive. I played a laney VC15 and then that, the laney was ok...but the H&K blew me away. So, i suggest trying one!
