This whole MORE COWBELL thing.

I know what it is - I saw the SNL skit on Youtube not too long ago after hearing "MORE COWBELL" all over the internet. But to be honest, I don't think it was that funny. Is this typical American humor or something? I (as a European) really don't think it's funny.

Anyone else with me on this one?

Meh. It's just like the "up to 11" thing. I never found it funny, and it gets very annoying.
#3
Most phrases will only ever be funny when used at the right time. :/
#5
Its got Christopher fucking Walken in it, how can it not be awesome/hilarious?
#6
that skit is hilarious because of will ferrell, not necessarily the quote, it's funny cause the way he's acting is ridiculous

Exactly!!!
Too many people own guitars. Someone had better go play a... clarinet or something.

:stickpoke

That means you.

If you think about it, it's not funny. I think that European humour is more ironic, sarcastic etc whereas Americans just do random shit on camera.

its cause thats exactly how blue oyster cult acted...
Ted: [Whispering to Bill] Your stepmom is cute.
Bill: Shut up, Ted.
Ted: Remember when she was a senior and we were freshmen?
Bill: Shut up, Ted!

Its one of those things that you never quite get why its funny, but something inside of you knows it is.

And for the record, the Bruce Dickinson in the skit is not the same Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden.

It's sort of like the lolwutpear. People use it at the stupidest of times, making it no longer funny. If it's used at the right time, it can be hilarious, but people know a days use it whenever they want, making it annoying.

And what is more, there's been a bloody purple nose and some bloody purple clothes that were messing up the lobby floor. It's just apartment house rules so all you 'partment fools remember : one man's ceiling is another man's floor.

He's awesome indeed, but I still hold the same opinion.

He made the entire thing for me, if he wasn't there it would just be an epic fail of a skit.

I feel like getting a set with 10 cowbells, all different sizes and sounds. That will be when my set is complete.

Cowbell saved my life. I once had a fever, and I was close to death. The doctors tried everything, but nothing seemed to work. They had all but given up when I heard a sweet melody coming from the next room. It seems they had given one of the children a cobell to play with, and the sound saved me. The only way to cure my fever was more cowbell.

That reminds me of the time my friend and I were talking about making a drum set entirely out of cowbells. A gigantic cowbell for the bass, about 4 different sized ones for toms and snare, and flattened cowbells for cymbals.

If you saw it without hearing about it first (like I did) it's one of the funniest things in the world.

When I saw it on SNL for the first time I was dying.
Life is underrated.

That probably does play a factor indeed yeah. On the other hand - I'm not that big a fan of SNL. Ah well, matter of taste.

On a side note - you cowbell maniacs going good with the business?

Its funnny because its bizarre a record producer would think of all things a song need more cowbell

Jokes aren't funny when you need to describe them.
