My old stratocaster copy is very old and the most of the parts are shot, so i want to get new ones, but I'm not quite sure which parts are the best. I don't know the difference between a 500k or 250k potentiometers, I know there probably a thread on here that will tell me that, but i just would like to know what is the best. I need new...

-Pots, vol, tone, tone, if that makes a difference...and ones that
don't crackle.
-5 way selector.
And also new pickups, single coil, if you know any good ones.

Thanks~

Yeah I upgraded my first so I know what you mean.

Higher pots will give you a brighter sound vs lower ones that will be warm. It's almost cleaner on the 500's but I use 250's because they are dark and warm.

Check out a 5 way selector from Musiciansfriend.com

Also...guitarfetish.com makes some nice single coils. They aren't perfect, but really I couldn't tell the difference from nice ones for a year or two. Depending on how much you want to spend, you could look around for custom pups. If you don't want to spend much, look at GF's clearance. Cheap decent pickups/
