i bought an epiphone sg last saturday and while i was strumming i noticed that the strings are making an annoying humming noise near the neck pickup.

i was thinking that the action was too low and the magnates were catching the strings so i raised it, yet it is still buzzing, i didnt hear the buzz in the store on an amp, im at college right now and dont have an amp here

any ideas?

you're getting fret buzz? its not electronic hum is it?

if it is, on a tune-o-matic bridge, there are thumb wheels u can turn to raise the string action from the bridge.
