I dunno. Bored, I guess. Mine is "Tears fall, but why am I crying? After all, I'm not afraid of dying!" Everytime I hear it, it gets me. I mean, I don't cry or anything, it just hits deep. Any of you guys have this same deal with a song?

"you and me goin' fishin' in the dark, lyin on our backs and countin' the stars, where the cool grass grows" it was the song that reminded me of my grandpa because we went fishing and hunting and I was very very close to him. I cried for days when he died, and the weirdest thing happened about a few weeks after, I turned my ipod on shuffle four times and the same four times that song was first... it was weird. another one is the second verse from Never Went to Church by The Streets. that song makes me feel the same way that the above does

"there one more kid that'll never ever go to school, never get to fall in love, never get to be cool" - rocking in the free world... never made me cry but it's a powerful line

Imagine all the people...

Mostly APC's version of it, because the recording of Lennon's version doesn't do it justice. Sometimes when I play it on a piano it gets that feeling back, but I don't find the recorded one as powerful.

The songs 3 Libras (especially when he keeps saying "You don't see me" at the end) and Orestes by A Perfect Circle are full of lines like that.

Also their song Wrong Body, where he sings "If i make it to Heaven, I may be as bloody as hell. I'm afraid that you might say 'Depart from here, for I never knew you.'"

The way he says it is so desperate..

I cried the first time i heard stairway. Message in a bottle gets me as well. Just how it builds up then chills out again straight away. But the intro mostly "Rescue me before i fall into despair". And Heart Shaped Box "Cut myself on angles hair and baby breathe, meat eating orchids forgive no one yet. Also Comfortably Numb. And All of Cemetary Gates. Those songs have taught me that you can become numb to hurt and pain but not be that numb to happyness. And that true love transends even death.

While not a single line, the song, "Tuesday's Gone" by Lynard Skynard is sad for me.

Directly after 9/11, on one of the news shows, e.g. Dateline, there was a report about a father who had lost his son in the World Trade Center attacks. He was struggling emotional and his life was falling apart in every aspect. He was living in an old RV, and he continually listened to this song; it made him cry everytime as it brought him back to that day when he lost his son. FYI, 9/11 was a Tuesday.

Ever since I saw that broadcast, I have linked that song emotionally to a deep sense of loss many people felt.
