Honestly, as much as I like my EMGs, I'd go with the Duncans, unless it's explicitly for metal.

This is UG, we love Schecters and Ibanez and Jacksons, we hate Deans and BCR's, we hate Marshall MG's, and everyone needs a new amp.

seymour duncans always
esps all sound the same and they are gay...the only reason people get emgs are because they think it makes them "metal" and really its just to make up for them sucking at life and being gay

I've Got Emgs And They are Awesome For Metal, but it's so hard to get good cleans out of them. Id go for The Seymour Duncans although I recommend the SH-8 and Jazz instead

It depends. The Emgs are great for metal and such, but the JB/59 is better at... everything else, sort of

Did you get beaten by the CEO of EMG when you were a child? Because I sense a remarkable amount of hate towards EMG pickups in all your posts

I would go for the SDs. I don't think i'm hardcore enough for emgs there to "br00tal" for me.
Thank God I'm not a Stereotype.

Basically you've just picked two random pickup combinations there, no doubt based on what you've read on UG as opposed to what they might actually sound like...in all honesty I'm shocked that you've not thrown Evos in there for good measure.

First things first, what amp do you have. From there it's questions like "What styles do you play?", "What kind of tone do you have currently?", "What is it about the tone that you don't like and want to change, and how do you want it to change?"

Y'know, stuff like that.
Actually called Mark!

I got EMGs in mine, and tbh it sounds killer. But on a sidenote, i would actually swap the for the JB/Jazz config if i could. Your RG321 has a mahogany body, thats another reason i would prefer passive (JB/Jazz) over active (EMG). The passive ones have a tendency to let the tone of your guitarwood come through, while the EMGs just sound like EMGs (which isnt bad at all). And mahogany as guitarwood is actually in the very nice end. So... Mahogany: JB/Jazz, Agathis: EMG.

Just my oppinion.
