Ok, first up, if this is in the wrong spot, sorry.

For music class I need a piece of Program Music to perform. Program music is basically music that tells a story.

Do any of you know some cool Program Music?

If so, thanks in advance.

The Rock - Harry Chapin. Little bit disturbing to tell the truth.
While looking at a guitar magazine with some friends.

Don't you understand the importance of correct spelling and grammar? It's the online symbol of maturity. And you as sure as hell don't have that.

You win the entire universe for mentioning Harry Chapin.

I never come across people who know the guy.

And yes, The Rock is a great example of program music. In fact, most of Chapin's music is. He was undoubtedly one of the best storytellers of his time.

Doesn't all music tell a story in some way?

Anyway, are you asking for specifically music that tells a story (in which case I'd suggest looking at soundtracks, specifically the ones labelled generally with "ost"), or something with lyrics that tell a story?
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Confused? Good.

Not necessarily. Songs that convey feelings or spread messages about general topics don't "tell a story" in the sense that the threadstarter wants.

Some songs that tell stories and would be easier to perform:
"The Lost Christmas Eve" and "The Three Kings and I" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra
"One Tin Soldier" by Original Caste
"Day Eleven: Love" by Ayreon (and most other Ayreon songs, for that matter)
"Pinball Wizard" by The Who
