when i play on my electric the high e always sounds quiet. it was like that from the beginning. can somebody tell me if this is normal?.

if my guitar was doing that i would just raise my pickups on the high e side

Well the high E will be quieter because of the tight/thin strings.
Just check in ways of making the string louder and check the pick ups

Check the pickups and make sure you arent accidently muting it with one of your fingers when you play

That used to happen to me. Anyway try lowering the amount of bass and increasing the treble settings. That might work. And you might also consider a heavier-gauge E string. That should help it as well.
